Easy to make and perfect for an after school snack, these all-natural Energy Flapjack bites are full of oaty goodness, chia and sunflower seeds and fruity cherries.
This winning recipe in our School Flapjack competition was created by Ruby at Audlem Primary School.
100g Mornflake Creamy Superfast Oats
25g smooth peanut butter
2 tbsp golden syrup
40g glacé cherries, roughly chopped
1 tbsp chia seeds
2 tbsp sunflower seeds
In a large saucepan, add the golden syrup and peanut butter. Gently melt together over a low heat, stirring well. Then remove from the heat.
Weigh out the oats and stir in the sunflower seeds, chia seeds and chopped glacé cherries. Tip the oats, seeds and cherries into the melted syrup and peanut butter. Mix well until thoroughly combined.
Transfer the energy bite mix to a bowl and leave to cool. When it is cool enough to handle, roll into small ball shapes. Place on a plate, then put them in the fridge to firm up before eating.
Store in an airtight container and eat within 4 days.
