We recently teamed up with our friends at HEART UK for National Heart Day to educate readers on the different types of cholesterol and how a healthy diet can help lower their levels.

Dietetic advisor, Lynne Garton recommends cutting back the fatty meats, cakes and biscuits, and dialling up the fruit, veg, pulses and oats! She explains that the high concentration of beta glucan fibre found in oats and oatbran is a key component of lowering “bad cholesterol” and can be an integral part of maintaining a healthy heart.
